Red Sox and Yankees Baseball

We get it. It is a rivalry. ESPN, here is a hint. Boston and New York are rather close to each other meaning that 90% of the country does not need to see every game between these two teams! Not only do we get every game now. We get a good five minutes on Sportscenter the next day to admire how great of a rivalry it has become. The fact is that I do not need to watch these two teams play every game against each other. If it was one or two games I understand. For example, the Bears/Packers games should most likely be on national television because that rivalry is great and they play twice a year. This rivalry however plays double digit games each year. The novelty is gone!
I complain about this every year. Unfortunately, ESPN usually does not hear my babbling directed at my television screen. Therefore, they continue to show this series. My point to this whole rant is that I want to know if people outside of Boston and New York genuinely would rather see these two teams play 15 times, or would they rather see a variety of teams on national television. There are so many teams that deserve to be seen. Still, when the Sox and Yankees are playing each other the whole league has to stop and watch them play.
Please, let me know if you are a fan of the Cardinals and are really excited for each game in the never-ending series between these two teams. If not, you agree with me that we all get it. And, as usual, if you agree with me, you are right.

I am a Red Sox fan and I don’t want to see them on ESPN anymore but the problem lies with the fans of other teams. When your team is on ESPN they don’t get the ratings. If they did you would get more air time.
Every year I read these types of comments by fans of other teams and every year I say the same thing. You need to organize people to watch. You need to find out which of your Card loving friends has a Nielson box and you need to make them leave the TV on. Even if not watching the games.
Every Red Sox fan I know hates ESPN and Fox games. If you think you are sick of seeing us it doesn’t even compare to how sick we are of being on Fox and ESPN and having to listen to Tim McCarver, Joe Buck and Joe Morgan.
Start a petition and I’ll sign it. No more Red Sox on ESPN would make my Century.

That’s actually very interesting to me to hear it come from a Red Sox fan. Being a Tigers fan and living in Wisconsin, I would love for my team to be on ESPN more. However, I agree that a lot of people in Detroit would much rather listen to those local announcers instead of guys like Buck and Morgan.
Of course, when the Tigers are 2-10 it’s tough to get high ratings. I guess that is the main factor. ESPN is getting much better ratings with the Yankees/Sox as opposed to any other game I’m sure.
